Volume 40 number 1 (2012)
The Variable Star Section of the Royal Astronomical Society of New Zealand (RASNZ-VSS) began in 1927 and has now been revived in the shape of Variable Stars South. This review introduces Variable Stars South (VSS), then continues by outlining some of the history of the RASNZ-VSS, discusses the more worthwhile achievements of the old RASNZ-VSS and mentions some of the observers and others who contributed to those successes.
