Abstract

(Abstract only) Many years ago W. H. Steavenson used various observations, including those of E. E. Barnard, of AG Cyg to estimate the limiting visual magnitude of several telescopes, including a 1.7-inch refractor and the Yerkes 40-inch refractor. We have checked Steavenson's observations against modern theory.
