Proposal

I would like to request BVRI observations for star T ORI. The observations will be sent to AAVSO database to be used by other observers and researchers who want and also to Dr. Dirk Froebrich of HOYS citizen science project. The observations will be used to further studies and publications about T ORI and others YSOs in M42 of the mentioned project. The aim of the project is long-term monitoring of YSOs.
I would like observations to be made at least 3 times a week if the sky is clear. The exposure may be depending on the telescope to which the proposal is allocated, if accepted. Thanks in advance.

This seems to be a popular object based on the number of BVRI observations of it in the database. Are there other similar targets with few observations that you could look at?

Hi Dirk, thank you for your message.
Yes, it's a very popular and interesting object.
And yes, there is some similar objects that are useful to HOYS that has few observations.
One of this objects is V555 Ori, this star was alerted by Gaia with a brightening of 1.5 mag. It has only 33 observations, 14 are mine. Along with this star will be more YSOs with few observations to be reported to the AAVSO's data base.
Do you suggest not having this proposal for T Ori approved due to the high number of observations in the database and I make another one for V555 Ori?

No need to submit a new proposal. You can just change the target in this proposal. I see that V455 Ori is quite a bit fainter than T Ori.

Hi Dirk, i'm trying with no success to find on the site the option to edit the proposal to change the name. Can you help with?

(3663) Dirk Terrell — Oct. 18, 2023, 8:30 p.m.

If you are logged into your AAVSO account, I think you should see the "Add another" button in the Targets section. When you're done, click the "Submit Changes" button.

That option is visible if i'm submitting a proposal. I never saw it after submitting. I checked here and in the "targets" section on the upper menu and found T Ori of this proposal, but I didn't find where to make the changes and add another target.

(3663) Dirk Terrell — Oct. 18, 2023, 8:55 p.m.

Ok, we can change it.

(35627) Cledison Marcos da Silva — Oct. 18, 2023, 8:57 p.m.

Ok. The star is V0555 Ori. Thank you for the help.

(35627) Cledison Marcos da Silva — Oct. 18, 2023, 9:15 p.m.

Hi Dirk. You will need to change the target to V555 Ori as i mentioned on the comments. Thank you.

(3663) Dirk Terrell — Oct. 18, 2023, 9:16 p.m.

Already done.

I see on the proposal V455.

Hi Dirk an Ken.
I believe there was an error in communication regarding the star when I performed the target change at Dirk's request and the coordinates of V555 Ori were exchanged with that of V0455. I received the images and they were very good as always, but they came from V0455, is there a possibility of correction for the coordinates of V0555 Ori, please? I emailed the sender of the images as well. Here are the coordinates if V0555 taken from VSX: 05 35 08.70 -04 46 52.5
