Petr, W Dra is ok but we don't recommend Z Tau because of the difficulties getting good data with aperture phometry. Arne and I, along with Walt Cooney and John Gross, looked at it a few years back and discovered that there were some close companions that interfered with the photometry in a significant way. We had to do PSF fitting to get good data. You can read our paper at

Also, it would be good when submitting proposals to give the allocation committee some justification for choosing your targets. Why do you want to observe these two stars?
Hi Dirk,
excuse me, I wanted to have these Mira stars in the observing program because their photometry has been done for a long time, mainly visually. my goal was to contribute to the AAVSO database. I am currently quite busy at work and do not do photometry with my own telescope. I agree with the elimination of the Z Tau, that would be quite difficult for me...
Ok, thanks for the feedback, Petr. Is there another target you'd like to substitute for Z Tau?
Not yet, thank you. I need some time to find a suitable targets that make sense to monitor using AAVSONET... Thank you very much for your support...
Ok, we'll go ahead and approve the observations of W Dra.
Committed to NH.
