Daily monitoring V582 Mon
Filters: V, R, I
this T Tau binary is surrounded by a tilted and nodally precessing circumbinay ring of dusty material, which has caused periodic occultations of one or both stars over the last 50 years. This screen of dust is covering star A completely at the moment, only occulting star B in its orbit. It is expected that the screen will eventually pass by, leaving a "normal" T Tau star visible. Period is 48.37 days.
2xV, 2xR, 2xI, repeated 2 times if possible (totaling12 exposures); it will be important to monitor daily to infer the sharpness of the trailing edge of the occulting screen
I know it will be difficult to monitor the whole occultation if it goes as deep as magnitude 19-20, but by stacking we will gain some SNR.
Preferably monitoring with the TMO61 (and/or the SRO)
Thanks and clear skies!
Bart
