Proposal

Dear Sir / Madam ,
This is for your kind information I am an AAVSO member since 2018 and this year
I have been selected as an AAVSO AMBASSADOR from India.
I have been very much impressed by Arne Henden's talk on Faint Star
Monitor(FSM) on 11th December,2021.
I would like to re-study the period change analysis of the following
Cepheids - W Virginis variables V154 of M3 and V42 and V84 of M5
paper Rabidoux_2010_AJ_139_2300.

For this study I would like to get ccd images using Faint Star Monitor
(FSM) Stations - SRO - Sonita Research Observatory - Arizona and
TMO61 - Tortugas Mountains Observatory - New Mexico. I would like to
find out the photometric measurement of these ccd images using the
VPhot package of AAVSO.
Hope you will guide me in this regard.
With regards,
Pradip Karmakar

Here I have got the following information of the targets from VSX.

1) M3-V154 (W Vir)
-------------------
Variability type: CWA
VSX: RA:13 42 11.64 and DEC:+28 22 13.7 (205.54850 +28.37047)
Period: 15.296 d
Spectral type: F5-G3e
V Mag. Range: 12.05 - 13.25

2) M5-V42(CWA)
-----------------
Variability type: CWA
VSX: RA 15:18:24.78 [229.60325°] & Dec: 02:02:53.2 [2.04811111°]
Spectral type:A6Ib/II-G3
V Mag. Range: 10.5 - 12.0 V
Period: 25.719 d

3) M5-V84(CWA)
------------------
Variability type: RVA
VSX: RA: 15:18:36.14 [229.65058333°] & Dec: 02:04:16.3 [2.07119444°]
Period: 53.95 d
Spectral type:F5
V Mag. Range:10.85 - 12.25 V

CCD observations: Yes, I would like to avail CCD coverage.
DSLR observations: No. I would not like to avail DSLR coberage with BGR filters.
Visual observations: No. I would not like to avail visual observation coberage.
Filters: I would like to avail CCD observations using V, B, Rc, and Ic (if possible).

Comparison and Check stars: I would like to get help about the sequence for this target from the Sequence Team.
Submitting observations: I would like to get the images ( bias and dark corrected and flat filded) in my VPhot account,
so that I can do the photometry of those images (.fits OR .fit format) using VPhot. I am very much eager to use VPhot
for the photometric measurement.

Please consider another two stars:
M5-V42(CWA)
-----------------
Variability type: CWA
VSX: RA 15:18:24.78 [229.60325°] & Dec: 02:02:53.2 [2.04811111°]
Spectral type:A6Ib/II-G3
V Mag. Range: 10.5 - 12.0 V
Period: 25.719 d

M5-V84(CWA)
------------------
Variability type: RVA
VSX: RA: 15:18:36.14 [229.65058333°] & Dec: 02:04:16.3 [2.07119444°]
Period: 53.95 d
Spectral type:F5
V Mag. Range:10.85 - 12.25 V

At the time of submission of this proposal (#246), I have given the R.A. , DEC and Magnitude range of Three Targets, but I do not understand why other two targets- M5-V42 and M5-V84 are not in the Target list. Should I resubmit my proposal again? Only one target i.e. M3-V154 is in the target list.

(3663) Dirk Terrell — Dec. 20, 2021, 3:23 p.m.

No need to resubmit. This is a problem with the proposal software that we are working on. We will consider all three targets.

(3663) Dirk Terrell — Dec. 21, 2021, 1:32 a.m.

Observations in multiple filters are recommended to increase their scientific value.

(4726) Kenneth Menzies — Dec. 21, 2021, 2:52 p.m.

Committed to TMO61 for a test run. See if you can get good photometry in this dense field? Check that exposures are appropriate. Report findings then will revise plan for daily runs.

(35150) Pradip Karmakar — Dec. 23, 2021, 3:34 p.m.

From which date would I expect to get CCD images of the Targets?

(35150) Pradip Karmakar — Feb. 19, 2022, 2:24 p.m.

Dear Sir,
I am requesting to get the CCD observations using V, B, Rc, and Ic (if possible). I am very much eager to use VPhot photometry package
for the photometric measurement. Please do the needful and oblige me.
With regards,
Pradip Karmakar
