Proposal #214

I would like to explore time domain / multi-messenger projects: chasing the GWave and Neutrino detector alerts. Specifically, the Kilonova project ( https://grandma-kilonovacatcher.lal.in2p3.fr/ ).
The initial goal is to respond to the weekly drill alerts which will be published on Fridays. Get the alert, post a plan to SRO and take 5-10 images. Collect the images and push them into the Kilonova pipeline by Monday.
I will explore ways to expedite the processing in Occam: tag the plan as Urgent so that it gets sent to Occam immediately and is process immediately and messages sent to the requester.
After that we will explore deploying plans like this via VOevents.
This project is done with Heinz-Berndt Eggenstein, the head of the High Energy Network observing section.
So the request is for weekly time on Friday-Sun for various single targets. SRO is the scope of choice as the targets will be magnitude ~18. Plan will be high priority but will be kept to 15 minutes of scope time.
